Celebrate National Employee Health and Fitness Day
Wednesday, May 16 is National Employee Health and Fitness Day. At Cooper Aerobics, we’ll be celebrating with our “Cooper teammates” (also known as our employees) in a few different ways:
- Dr. Kenneth H. Cooper will be leading teammates on a 1-mile walk around our gorgeous campus.
- We’re hosting a Get Cooperized Olympics, including relay races, hula hoop contests and more!
- We’ll have healthy refreshments and snacks available for all teammates.
Poor diet and lack of exercise are responsible for at least 25 percent of healthcare costs incurred by working adults. Yet companies providing wellness offerings have higher productivity rates, less absenteeism due to illness and reduce health risks and associated costs of their workforce.
Celebrating can be a simple, healthy and fun way to interact with your colleagues and promote physical fitness. Start holding a “walking meeting” with your colleagues to get moving. Encourage keeping healthy snacks around the office.
