Ask Corey Noel what job he would find torturous and he’s quick to say, “Sitting in an office all day with no windows. I need to be outside.” Good thing his office includes lots of sunshine. As the new Cooper Fitness Center Assistant Tennis Pro, Corey shares his love of the game with kids and adults alike. With over 10 years of teaching he has offered tennis instruction at Fair Oaks Tennis Center, Jack Coleman Tennis Center, Rockwall Golf and Athletic Club and Oasis Beach and Tennis Club.
Corey received a bachelor’s degree in literary studies education from The University of Texas at Dallas (UTD) and an associate’s degree in journalism from Richland College. While attending UTD, Corey was on the varsity tennis team and maintained the highest win percentage on the team roster. Corey has continued his involvement in the Dallas tennis community as he now serves as the Communications Director and board member of the Dallas Professional Tennis Association.
Corey joined the teammates of Cooper as the Assistant Tennis Pro in September and aside from pumping up the Tennis Programs at Cooper with Tennis Pro Steve Franklin, Corey is preparing for a United States Tennis Association (USTA) Senior Major Zone Tennis Tournament in November that will feature several of the top-ranked players in Texas.
You can catch Corey on our tennis courts supporting his favorite tennis shoe: adidas® Barricade 2. With a varied background, Corey provides many additions to the Cooper Tennis Programs. He:
- Specializes in running drill groups for adults from the beginner to advanced levels
- Coaches USTA Metro and TCD teams to compete for championships
- Teaches juniors ages 3 to 18 to develop technique, strategy and passion for tennis
- Offers private and semi-private lessons for more specific player development
